Mrs. Annie Bascomb aka Sweet Spirit. I miss you already as I could always count on seeing you at church. I remember serving in the Gulf War and returning home to Tuskegee to visit my mom and grandma and of course returning to Saint Mark MBC on that Sunday. We met you on the church grounds with great laughter and abundant hugs as we were all trying to talk to you at one time. Thank you for the encouragement that you and Mrs. Hardy rendered as super hero librarians at Tuskegee Institute High School. Thank you for the enormous scholarship from your beloved Zeta Phi Beta sisters. Lastly, thanks for showing me the love of a dedicated mom and grandmother decades before I became a mother or grandmother. Rest in peace my Sister until we meet again. Odessa Phillips Fouse

The Golden Life Center Family was blessed with the Love, Creativity, and Compassion of Mrs. Bascomb. Shared her humor, personal testimony, and warm embraces freely. Under her leadership, we traveled, did puzzles, did fashion shows, played bingo, ate, danced, fellowshipped, studied the Bible, and most importantly...supported each other...that is a family! Our Matriarch, Mrs. Bascomb, leaves a legacy without compare. We celebrate her life and legend! May God continue to comfort her family and friends! Shirley Rogers

Your poise, charm, humor, candor, and wit will stay with me all of my days. While I will always cherish the many holidays and amazing meals we shared at your house, it's the little things that stick out the most. You always had some microwave popcorn, butter pecan ice cream, and a joke or funny story at the ready. If I was really lucky and really good, there might even be a piece of German chocolate cake in the vicinity. You were an amazing aunt and godmother, never missing an opportunity to show your love. I thought I had it good as your nephew, but when your GRANDCHILDREN came along, I really began to see the breadth and depth of your kindness, caring, and love. Oh, how you loved on those girls! I wish you blissful rest dear Aunt. Until we meet again. -Benjamin Phillip Rackley II & Family
