I am totally speechless! Mrs. Upchurch was an integral part of my Tuskegee experience. From Supervisor, mentor then friend. I will be celebrating 30 years as a member of Gamma Tau chapter and Mrs. Upchurch played a significant role. I remember her making me type my introduction letters several times before she would sign it. She made sure that I had my favorite room in Sage Hall from Sophomore to Senior year. She is absolutely one of a kind! To the Upchurch family my deepest condolences. From the Smith family

I am a better man, husband, father and pastor because of Momma Upchurch. I will always love you for helping this young preacher/pastor!

It is with a heavy heart that just learn the passing of Mrs. Upchurch. She will forever be etched in my Tuskegee Experience as my mentor, role model, my first work-study supervisor, and advisor to the Chicago Club. The thought of her kind loving spirit and soft spoken words bring me comfort. I send my heartfelt and sincerest condolences to Dr. Upchurch and the family. Abena Myers-Taylor

We thank the Lord for His sustaining grace, and are praying the Lord's comfort and strength for the entire Upchurch and Sneed Families. Our family was so blessed when Louise and her husband, Leo, along with their children, grandchildren, and her sister, Zelmarie, graciously hosted our July, 2010 Carroll/Melton Family Reunion in Tuskegee, Alabama. We will forever cherish the generous hospitality, the outpouring of love, and the many precious memories shared there on the historical Tuskegee Institute campus. Mrs. Upchurch would always bring cheer with her engaging smile. You could feel the warmth of her genuineness. She was a faithful member and Deaconess at Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church.
